twenties-girl

Yet another enchanting and engaging read by Sophie Kinsella. It is the same old “Kinsella’s writing style” that I love! A lighthearted and hilarious read encircling around a ditzy girl who was haunted by her great aunt (who seems to be stuck in the 1920s despite dying at a great age of 105 in the twentieth century). A story which sets you wishing for an endearing, vivacious and spirited great aunt in your life.

‘Did you know there are thirty-two names for love in one of the Eskimo languages?’ August said. ‘And we just have this one. We are so limited, you have to use the same word for loving Rosaleen as you do for loving a Coke with peanuts. Isn’t that a shame we don’t have more ways to say it?’

Now, I swear by the aphorism, “What goes around comes around”.

Next time if anyone hands you a flyer, take it. FREAKING TAKE IT.

When people stop shopping, other people lose their jobs. So there is no moral high ground to be gained by abstaining from felicity.

– Anna Wintour, Vogue’s Editor of Chief

Girls, now you’ve got a greater reason to go enjoy some guilt free shopping.

Watched it last week and it gave me a new perspective in life.

People are meant to die. People are meant to lose their love ones. Cause only through loss, can one learn to cherish what you have.

Did I mention Brad Pit is cute? Cate is very classy too.

I quoted this from someone from Today newspaper to my friend. Sort of trying to motivate him.

“Maybe the hump is put in front of you because to emerge triumphant at the end of the quest is just not meant to be easy.”

But he replied.

I think the hump should be replaced and the quote should go like this…

“Maybe the muthaf@%$ing mountain is put in front of you because to emerge triumphant at the end of the quest is just not meant to be easy.”

LOL.

Do not waste the vast majority of your life doing something you hate so that you can spend the small remainder sliver of your life in modest comfort. You may never reach that end anyway.

Resist the temptation to get a job. Instead, play. Find something you enjoy doing. Do it. Over and over again. You will become good at it for two reasons: you like it, and you do it often.

Find that pursuit that will energise you, consume you, become an obsession. Each day, you must rise with a restless enthusiasm. If you don’t, you are working.

When you found someone you like – love boldly.

When a guy keeps causing a girl to cry and chooses to stay only because she is in tears… He has no idea how much hurt he had already caused despite his stay…

//Friends I am not going through a breakup or anything. Just a thought that was inspired through a conversation with my friend.

if a man doesn’t bring you joy, make you a better person or simply doesn’t enhance your life. ditch him.

cause as a woman, you don’t need a guy for anything else

Ah ha! My friend. That’s what I’m talking about. But alas, who you see
is not me, but yourself. Thee cannot see from thy heart what innermost
felt is. Cos blessed are the hearts that can bend, they will never be
broken. But if there is no breaking, there is no healing. And if there
is no healing, there can be no learning. I am proud of you my friend,
cos your learning begins today. It is time you let go and be free.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

A friend just told me this and I guess it’s pretty true.
