My job allows me to buy Christmas CDs for Frontline and I bought 5 Christmas CDs just for this purpose. I can’t stand Christmas CD compilation which gives crappy music!

Here are the reviews of all the Christmas CDs I bought and I have rank them starting from my favourite album!

A Very She & Him Christmas – She & Him

This CD totally rocks my Christmas world! I love that it sounded different from the usual Christmas songs adding a little edgy and quirky touch to Christmas! Right, I’m also a little bias because I love Zooey Deschanel ! Her character in New Girl is awkward yet cool and I’m just curious how she sounds! An unlikely Christmas song “Baby, it’s cold outside” is cheeky and oh so appropriate for the cold cold weather. Haha.

The Gift – Corrinne May

Her voice is heavenly! Even though this sounded like a typical Christmas Carol voice but don’t you love her angelic and soothing songs during this joyful season! Also, this is the only Christmas album which actually worship and praise our Lord Almighty!

Under the Mistletoe – Justin Bieber

I am not a fan of inconsistent Christmas album. One minute it is blasting some high pitch song, the other minute it is an R&B Christmas song trying too hard and the next minute it is this soulful vocal rendition of a prepubescent boy with Mariah Carey. OMG. The only reason this CD is picked – to appease the younger audience at Frontline.

Was at the launch of Dance by Jean Tan a couple of weeks ago, and gosh, I am falling in love with her music. The beautiful melody, touching lyrics and soothing voice in her album will surely impress you! Influenced by Tori Amos and Damien Rice, her music also bear similarities to Joanna Wang and Corrine May. My favourite tracks include You Look into my Heart and Dance. Mr Smiley hearts Coldplay

Coldplay played to 10,000 fans last Monday nite, and Mr Smiley was there to witness the world’s greatest band (cause I say so) rawk the bloody roof down, and cause a massive rush of blood to all our heads (above the waist pls, ppl).

Screamo

What are kids thinking these days ?

My brother just introduced this new genre of music to me. The kind he listened to all day and night.

SCREAMO.

Out of curiosity, I looked up urbandictionary.com – the trusted dictionary.

Screamo: A term that refers to recent bands that play old style emo. When the media started to label pop punk and indie rock bands emo, people needed a new word to describe the style of music that used to be characterized with emo. Some say screamo is a little more artsy and pretentious than older emo, but that’s arguable.

Ok. Now, my definition of screamo after personally experiencing the horrifying noise, oh no, I meant music.

A bunched of emo kids, or youth as my brother corrected, who learn to sing-scream their lungs out without damaging their throat. “Cause they used a special technique called – Inhale screaming.” That is what my brother claimed, and he went on by saying that “they using diaphragm instead of their throat when singing.”

O.K. Whatever that is, I am definitely not trying to sing like them. Even though my friends prefer to have their “Sore throat Serene” back, but hey, I am not shutting up. HAHA

“Almost Here” (Brian Mcfadden & Delta Goodrem) Revised

One of my random reader commented that Delta has never been married, so to clear her name, this is the edited version to correct my earlier mistakes.

After Googling about Delta, yes it’s confirmed that she is not married. She was single and very available when she was with Brian. It was Brian who left his wife for Delta. The media seems to suggest that it was Brian who had cheated on his wife for Delta even before their separation. So yap, here’s the story.

I heard a story from my friend today that one of the singer for the song “Almost Here”, namely Brian Mcfadden and Delta Goodrem both divorced their his respective spouses to be together with Delta Goodrem.

It was super random, when he told me that, I just stopped my work and decided to blog about this.

I was just thinking about it. If I were in his/her situation will I do the same? I think it takes a lot of courage to give up the long and established relationship that you have originally created to be together with someone new whom you just know. I think it takes a lot of courage to realize that you made the wrong decision in the past and now you seek for an alternative.

I guess some people really don’t know what they want till they finally met the person.
