There were many reasons to get a gift from MyBabyGift and I’m sure many of you can relate to them! Before I begin, I think I’m sounding like I’m writing a proposal to convince my boss to pick my marketing strategy! As a matter of fact, I thought I need a lot of convincing from the man to get this, but he just nodded and say, go ahead. Haha. So here are my personal reasons for picking this gift!
Baby’s Mummy is a Glamorous One: If you know my friend, she is one glamorous and stylish babe, you know her child can’t settle for an ordinary gift. It must be special! Extraordinary! Look at her baby shower’s picture! She has a dessert table for Seth’s One Month Old Party! This is even more glamorous than a wedding! Haha.

Gift Differentiation: Many friends will be gifting baby clothes and toys, but after receiving 20 – 30 gifts from different friends and relatives, the receiver may not remember who gave what after a while. I want Baby Seth to remember, Auntie Serene bought her a towel with his name on it! I think it’s cool, but maybe not Baby Seth 20 years down the road.
Special Keepsake: I heard it’s really really fast for babies to outgrow their clothes and toys and soon, the regular gifted clothes and toys will be passed down to others, donated or kept in storage. But which mum will give away a towel/jumper/blanket with their precious little one’s name embroidered on it! I won’t! I will probably keep them for as long as it last!
A Romantic Gift: Some of my practical mummy friends prefer supermarket vouchers while others prefer cash, yes, baby can be expensive! I heard they drink a tin of milk within 2 weeks and used up diapers like toilet papers! Gasped! So yes, gift vouchers and cash is good, but leave those to their relatives! Remember a while back I was raving about Material World’s giveaway? I actually won something! This is just getting better! Haha. I won a pair of Holster sandals!
OMG! I am all ready for a beach holiday! I redeemed it at Not to Big at Forum and picked from a range of sandals! My final pick? True to my original pick – Holster’s St Tropez Jelly Sandals!
Not too big is having a push cart outside the store and their Holster sandals are on sale! It seems like it has been here for a while because Lady J scored a pair on discount a while back!
The range which I get to pick from! I wanted the one in gold but they ran out of sizes so the grey one is my next pick! I heard these range is on a 15% discount!
There are many pretties for the little ones too! When mummies loves it, you know for sure they are comfortable. But when non mummies also love it, it has got to be fashionable. I’m lucky to score a pair of stylish and comfortable sandals!

My take on Eyeshadows and Material World’s Anna Sui Giveaway!
Did I mention I love participating in Giveaways? I think I did. Did I mention that Material World is awesome with lots of interesting Giveaways? I think I did. Gosh, participating in giveaways is like buying lottery except that you don’t have to spend a single cent! Yay! And winning giveaways make me happy! What’s not to like when you can enjoy tiny victories in the form of giveaways! Haha. Of course, I do not participate in every giveaway just to win something. I participate in something I can relate to and things I really like! Just that there are plenty all over. Haha.
So back to the latest Material World giveaway! Material World is giving away Anna Sui Limited Eye Shadow Palette 2013 in No. 2, and it triggered some thoughts on my views on eyeshadows colours.
Basically, I am boring when it comes to the colours of eyeshadows. I stick to natural, earth and brown tones most of the time. I declare that it looks best for Asian girls. At least for me!
Here are some colours I tried previously:-
- Pink: I tried and looked like I have swollen eyes. Freaking puffy goldfish.
- Blue: Please don’t ask me why I even bother. I look like someone from Mars. Blue and creepy.
- Green: Yes. I tried green. The makeup artist must have hated me. She applied green eyeshadow and blood red lipstick in my Varsity Pageant Finals. Yes, I participated in pageants before, that is a story for another day. But freaking green eyeshadow and blood red lipstick? She explained that she thinks I can carry it off. Did I mentioned my gown was pastel blue? Gosh. I almost burst out in tears.
- Black/Grey: I saw Steph doing her smokey eyes during our D&D one year, tried and ended up looking like a Panda with two black eyes.
Ever since these incidents, I’ve stick with my safest brown, earth and slightly shimmering gold hues. I believe there are nothing wrong with the colours, it is probably just me. I am contemplating if I should go for makeup workshops. HMPH.
Here’s my faithful eyeshadow from L’Oreal which I’ve used for a long time. This is my daily palette and also the palette I used during fancy dinners.
But when I read that Material World is giving away Anna Sui Limited Eye Shadow Palette 2013 in No. 2, the palette is perfect! Something for a change. I want it! This is definitely in time to replace my almost gone L’Oreal eyeshadow! Keeping my fingers crossed. Haha.

Free Pap Smear this May!

This May, Singapore Cancer Society is offering Free Pap Smear for all female Singaporeans and PR aged 25 – 69 years old! Cervical Cancer ranks no. 9 among the cancers diagnosed in Singaporean women. Each year, 200 women are diagnosed with the disease and 70 of them die from it. It is a highly preventable and curable disease.
I hope I can find the time to arrange for a Pap Smear session this May! Girls! Come lift your skirt and save your life.

Red Ribbons Giveaway.
Read the news and it reminded me it’s World AIDS Day today. It has been more than a year since our “Hearts of Hope” project with the Patient Care Centre and I would like to take this opportunity to shout out to all SbR readers to support this cause, to not discriminate this group of people and to give them a second chance to live a fulfilling life.
